Website design in Raleigh, NC

Most of the sites we’re asked to replace aren’t ugly. They’re slow, they bury the phone number, they were built before more than half of local traffic was mobile, and the SEO was quoted as a separate line item that never got approved.

A site that looks good and doesn’t produce calls is an expensive brochure. This is built the other way around: what does someone need to see, and how fast, to pick up the phone.

What’s included

SEO built into the build, not sold back to you later. Clean URL structure, crawlable navigation, canonicals, a real XML sitemap, page titles and headings written for what people actually search. This isn’t phase two. It’s how the site gets built.

Local SEO wired in. Service and location pages structured to support your Google Business Profile, with consistent name, address and phone across the site. Ties directly into local SEO work if you want the ongoing version.

Schema markup so search engines and AI tools can read what your business is, where it is, and what it does.

Server-rendered pages. This sounds technical and it matters more every month. Most AI crawlers don’t run JavaScript, so a site whose content only appears after scripts execute is invisible to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. A server-rendered build solves this. A React rebuild does not.

Mobile-first, built around one action. Tappable phone number in the header. Short forms. Services organized the way a customer thinks about them, not the way your org chart does.

Speed. Core Web Vitals tested before launch, not discovered afterward.

You own it. Your domain, your hosting account, your install, your logins. If you fire us, the site leaves with you.

A 301 redirect map at launch, so the rankings you already have survive the move. This is the single most common way a website relaunch goes wrong.

What a site actually has to do now

Two numbers worth knowing.

46% of consumers say they “always” or “often” add “near me” to a local search (BrightLocal). Those searches resolve in the map pack, which means your Google Business Profile decides whether you show up and your website decides what happens after the click. Both have to work. A great site attached to an unclaimed profile loses to a mediocre site attached to a well-run one.

97% of consumers read reviews before choosing a local business (BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026). Which means by the time someone reaches your site, they’ve often already checked what people say about you. The site’s job at that point is not to convince them you exist. It’s to make booking easy and to answer the two or three questions that are still open.

How it works

Common questions

Do I need SEO if I’m getting a new website?

The technical and on-page SEO is part of the build here, so there’s nothing to add on. What’s separate is ongoing work: content, local SEO, link earning. Plenty of shops quote a low build price and sell the search work back as a monthly retainer. That’s a business model, not a best practice.

Will my new site show up in ChatGPT and AI search?

It’ll be readable by them, which is the part you control. Server-rendered HTML, clear headings, real question-and-answer sections, and structured content. Anyone guaranteeing you AI citations is guessing.

Does site speed actually affect rankings?

A little, and it affects conversion a lot. Core Web Vitals targets are LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds, and CLS under 0.1, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits. Google has been clear these aren’t giant ranking factors. They’re large conversion factors, which is the better reason to care.

What happens to my rankings when the site changes?

Nothing, if the redirects are done properly. Every old URL points at its closest new equivalent with a 301, and we verify in Search Console after launch. Skipping this is how a relaunch loses six years of ranking in a week.

Who this is for

Established businesses whose site is costing them calls. Best fit if you have real services, real photos or a willingness to get them, and someone who can answer questions during the build.

Not a fit if you want a five-page template site as cheaply as possible. That’s a real need and there are good tools for it, and we’ll point you at one rather than overcharge you for the same thing.
